Member of CAS and CAE

Professor Sha is a Physical chemist. He was born in Chengdu, Sichuan province in May, 1934, graduated from Beijing Petroleum College in 1956. Professor Sha has been working in Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1957. Now he is a professor in State Key Laboratory of Molecular Reaction Dynamics in the Innstitute. He was elected as the member of Chinese Academy of Science in 1997. Professor Sha is mainly engaged in the research of laser chemistry, molecular Kinetics and chemical laser, and developed the laser double resonance multiphoton ionization spectroscopic technique to study the molecular spectroscopy and collisional energy transfer of excited states. He found the first experimental evidence of Collisional Quantum Interference Effect of excited molecules.

Professor Sha has won totally 8 awards in science and technology, including the Second Award of National Natural Science Prize of China of 1999 and won the Science and Technology Progress Prize of HLHL Fund of 2003.
