Researchers from Shenyang Institute of Automation and Sanya Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering have finished deep sea experiment of two hadal landers recently. The two landers experimented at the same time and reached a record depth of 3,743 meters in diving missions, and they both will embark on scientific application journey in Mariana Trench sooner.
The mission tested and verified the functional capability and comprehensive performance of the integrated lander systems, including high-resolution photo taking, video recording, creature trapping, oceanic environment parameters measuring and sampling, etc.
Researchers obtained photos and video records of deep-sea creatures, environment parameters, water sample near sea bottom and bottom sediments.
