Dr. Chih-Ming Ho, a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) of the United States visited Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on September 24th, 2013. During his visit, Dr. Ho presented a lecture named Rapid Optimization of Combinatorial Drugs by FSC.X Techniques at the Einstein Professor seminar.

Dr. Ho is known for his contributions in bio-nano technology, micro/nano fluidics, and turbulence. He was ranked by ISI as one of the top 250 most cited researchers in all engineering category around the world. In 1997, Dr. Ho was inducted as a member of the National Academy of Engineering. In the next year, he was elected as an Academician of Academia Sinica.

In his lecture, Dr. Ho elaborated the application of engineering control theories and methods to biological and medical research in the perspective of complex system control. He introduced his latest research progress and outlook. Sang Zigang, deputy director of SIA presented the “Einstein Professorship” certificate to Dr. Ho during the seminar.

The Einstein Professorship Program is a key initiate of CAS. It will be awarded each year to 20 distinguished international scientists actively working at the frontiers of science and technology, for conducting lecture-tours to China.
