SIA Researcher Chosen to Work for ITER Organization in France
Recommended by Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Fangping Yang from the Robotics Laboratory of SIA will work as a visiting researcher at the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Organization headquarters located in France for one year. Furthermore, he becomes the first Chinese scholar working in the remote handling section of ITER organization.
Passing the qualification check, first-round selection, Fangping Yang finally got the position after going through interview. Regarding the duty of one year, he will be responsible for the project of "standard software platform development for RH control system applications, based on Linux. Fault detection reporting/ archiving methods/ tools", as well as participating in the design of structural programming language for ITER teleoperation control system. As one of the key technologies of teleoperation control system of ITER, the structural programming language is a universal programming tool to realize teleoperation system integration. SIA, one of the participants under the ITER project of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China, undertakes the research of the project “Fine Teleoperation Master-slave Robot and Human-Machine (HM) interactive Control System”.
As one of the largest scientific cooperation plan in the world, ITER is an international nuclear fusion research and engineering project, which China participates in as an equal partner. ITER with headquarters located in France is funded and run by seven equal member entities- the European Union (EU), India, Japan, China, Russia, South Korea and the United States.
