DICP High-End Forum: "Symposium on Catalytic Materials for Petrochemical Engineering"
A series of high-end forums will be held at DICP as part of the celebration activities for the 60th Anniversary of DICP, and this symposium was one of them. It was held from 16th to 18th of July in Dalian, and was co-sponsored by DICP, RIPP(Research Institute of Petroleum Processing) of SINOPEC(China Petroleum & Chemical Corp.), and the Consulting Center of SINOPEC. 15 prominent and weighty experts in the petrochemical field of China were invited to deliver plenary lectures, and the their topics involved development of clean and renewable energies, petroleum refining and oil products, catalytic conversions of alternate petroleum resources, value-raising of low value-added resources, energy saving and emission lowering in energy conversions, etc.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. LI Can, Vice-Director of DICP and Member of CAS. Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP, gave a welcome address and talked on the objectives of the symposium. Then, the subsequent sessions were co-chaired by Prof. LIU Zhongmin, Vice-Director of DICP, and Mr. HE Shengbao, Vice-General Manager of the Science & Technology Administration Department of SINOPEC.
Distinguished participants of the symposium included Prof. HU Yongkang of Fushun Research Institute of Petroleum Processong of SINOPEC and Member of CAS, Prof. XIE Youchang of Peking University, Prof. ZHENG Xiaoming of Zhejiang University, Prof. XIAO Fengshou of Jilin University, Prof. SONG Jiaqing of Beijing University of Chemical Engineering, Prof. BAO Xiaojun and Prof. SHEN Baojian of Petroleum University(Beijing), Prof. LIU Chen of Petroleum University(Eastern China), Prof. LI Yongwang of CAS Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry, Prof. MA An, Vice-Director of RIPP, and Prof. LAN Ling of RIPP. Prof. LIN Liwu and Prof. YUAN Quan of DICP, both Members of CAS, also attended the symposium. Seven research professors of DICP delivered presentations in the symposium, introducing the newest progresses attained by DICP scientists in the field of catalytic conversion of energies.
During the symposium, top officials of DICP have carried out discussions with leaders of the Science & Technology Department and the RIPP of SINOPEC, respectively. The hosts and the guests reviewed the previous cooperation between both sides, discussed R&D topics of mutual interest, and explored possible spaces for strategic collaboration in the future. Collaborations in R&D and commercialization of several substantial projects have also been discussed.
