AET Members of IOCAS Attending the Conference of Aquaculture America 2015
Dr. Qiu T., Sun G. and Chi L., members of AET (Aquacultural Engineering R&D Team, IOCAS) attended the AQUACULTURE AMERICA 2015 conference and exposition, which were held on Feb. 19-22, 2015, at New Orleans, LA USA.
AQUACULTURE AMERICA 2015 featured technical sessions and workshops covering nearly all aspects of aquaculture around the world. There were international professionals in attendance giving presentations on the latest research and investigations of technical and practical aspects of aquaculture.
The reports in this conference almost covered every aspect of aquaculture including the ingredients and engineering of aqua-feeds, freshwater finfish, stock enhancement, restoration aquaculture conservation, biotechnology, genetics and genomics and enhancing aquatic veterinary practice, client production, etc. In this conference, they focused on those reports about the shellfish research, gonad development, probiotics, feeding management, aquaculture engineering, etc. “We learn a lot from them about the attitude in research” said Chi, “They could do some very little experiments over the years, just in order to get the best condition. We think this is an example for Chinese researchers---just do the work best and clear.”
“This was the first time we went to attending a conference hold in America. It would help to build an international perspective for our future research. And we also made many friends in the conference coming from different institutes and universities. It gives us more chances to conduct cooperation in academy and industry in the future” said Qiu.
