Dr. SAKARINDR BHUMIRATANA, the President of KMUTT visits IMR

From August 25th to 27th, Dr. SAKARINDR BHUMIRATANA, the president of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) of Thailand, Dr. CHAOWALIT LIMMANEEVICHITR, the vice president of KMUTTDr. BOPIT SREWAROMYA, the consultant of PTT Maintenance and Engineering Company Limitedand a pedestrian of 5 people visited Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS).

On the morning of Augst 25th, Prof. Zhang Jian, the Deputy Director of IMR, and Prof. Ke Wei, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, met with Dr. SAKARINDR BHUMIRATANA and the guests from Thailand. In the meeting, Prof. ZHANG and Dr. SAKARINDR BHUMIRATANA exchanged the basic information of both sides including the research fields, scientific achievements, international cooperation and education. And they had a deep discussion on their science interests and graduate education.

During the visit, Dr. SAKARINDR BHUMIRATANA and the group attended the Doctoral Dissertation Defense of Mr. Thee, who is a Ph.D candidate student of IMR sponsored by Princess Sirindhorn Fellowship. Dr. CHAOWALIT LIMMANEEVICHITR was invited as a member of the defense committee.

On April of 2014, H.R.H Thai Princess Sirindhorn visited University of Chinese Academy of Sciences for attending the Renewing Ceremony of Cooperation Memorandum between the UCAS and The Civil Service Commission Office of Thai Royal Government. The first sign of Memorandum was on 3 April, 2008. In which the “UCAS-- Royal Thai Government scholarship” was set up for supporting Thai students to study at the Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (GUCAS, the predecessor of UCAS) to obtain a master's and doctoral degree.
