Professor Wu Haiyuan from Wakayama University Visited SIA

Upon the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Robotics, Professor Wu Haiyuan from Wakayama University in Japan visited Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on December 25th, 2013. During her visit, Prof. Wu made a report named Looking at Human with Active Cameras.

In her report, Prof. Wu introduced in detail the research progress of her team in the fields of robotic vision and automatic control, as well as key technologies and future development directions. By showing vivid video materials, Prof. Wu explained the application of combining video algorithm and automatic control technology in intelligent robot, and the potential application environment.

Prof. Wu graduated with a Ph.D Degree in Engineering from Osaka University in 1997. She now serves as head of the Information and Communication Division under the Department of System Engineering in Wakayama University. She is also members of IEEE, IPSJ, IEICE, ISCIE and Human Interface, etc.

Her research interests include pattern recognition, the human-computer interaction of robot, computer vision, robot learning theory, robot visual calibration, etc.
