Upon the invitation of Autonomous Underwater Robotics Technology Department, Professor Jen-Hwa Guo from the National Taiwan University visited Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on November 19th, 2013.
Prof. Guo made a report, named Underwater Robot Design for Live Demonstration in a Museum of Marine Science and Technology at the Robotics Frontier Forum. Sang Zigang, deputy director of SIA awarded the certificate of Robotics Frontier Forum to Prof. Guo after the report.
During his visit, Prof. Guo made discussions with researchers form the Autonomous Underwater Robotics Technology Department on academic issues. Xu Hongli, researcher from the department made a brief introduction of the department, and presented the research progress of the department on deep sea AUV. The two sides exchanged ideas on topics such as autonomous obstacle avoidance of robofish, underwater light communication, AUV buoyancy adjustment and sonar image processing, etc.
