Professor from University of Alabama Visited SIA and Gave a Lecture on Wireless Sensor Network

On June 5, 2009, Industrial Informatics Laboratory of Shenyang Institute of Automaton (SIA) invited Professor Yang Xiao of University of Alabama, to give a lecture on wireless sensor network. The topic of professor Xiao is “Error Analysis and Kernel Density Approach of Scheduling Sleeping Nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks”. Staff and graduates of SIA listened to Professor Xiao’s report.
Professor Yang Xiao is currently an IEEE Senior Member and a member of American Telemedicine Association. His research areas include computer/network security, telemedicine, robotics, sensor networks, wireless networks, as well as many related directions. First, Professor Xiao pointed out that a priori knowledge of sensor nodes deployment can greatly affect the performance of sensor network. Then, he introduced their latest work on network scheduling without a prior knowledge. In the end, the attendees of the seminar held a heated discussion on the related issues.
This seminar offered the audience the latest trend of the wireless sensor network in the world.
