International Workshop on Ecosystem N cycling under Climate Change Held in IAE

On 6-7 March, 2018, the workshop was held in IAE. The workshop was hosted by the CAS Key Lab of Forest Ecology and Management. About 60 persons attended, including 20 well known scientists in the field of Nitrogen cycling coming from Kyoto University Japan, University of Puerto Rico USA, Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Universities in China and Institutes in CAS.

Prof Keisuke Koba from Kyoto University gave a report entitled as Nitrogen and Oxygen Isotope Techniques to Elucidate the Uncovered Functions in the Ecosystems.

Prof Xiaoming Zou’s report was entitled as Matching Ca with Trees-Implications to Climate Change.

Dr KANG Ronghua from Norwegian University of Life Sciences gave report entitled as Nitric Oxide Emission and N Turnover in an N-saturated Subtropical Forested Headwater Catchment, Southwest China.

Scientists from Institute of Atmospheric Physics, CAS, Institute of Subtropical Agro-ecology, CAS, Center for Ecological Environment Research, CAS and IAE CAS, Tianjin University, Northeast Forestry University, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University reported their work. Prof FANG Yunting and Prof BAI E attended and reported their work as well.

There were warm discussions and idea exchanges. The workshop provided a platform for scientific exchange and set a well beginning for the potential cooperation in the future among institutions and scientists.
