SIA Participated in IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation 2014

The 2014 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, Hong Kong, China, from May 31 to June 5, 2014. Experts and researchers from Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) participated in the conference, including Yu Haibin, director of SIA, Wang Tianran, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Han Jianda, director of the Robotics Laboratory of SIA, etc.

This year, the conference theme is “Robotics and Automation: Technologies Enabling New Economic Growth” reflecting the growing spectrum and recent developments in robotics and automation around the world. Professor Xi Ning, distinguished research fellow of SIA served as the chairman. This occasion gathered about 2,000 experts and scholars from world known universities and research institutes. Famous suppliers of robotics, such as KUKA Robot Group and ABB Group showcased their latest products in the conference.

Han Jianda was invited to made theme report at robotic seminar during the conference. Through posters and videos, researchers from SIA introduced achievements made by the institute to people visiting the booth. Model of Jiaolong manned submersible and industrial wireless network equipment were shown at the stand. Researchers also passed out pamphlets of Robot, Information and Control, both internationally-published journals co-sponsored by SIA and the Chinese Association and Automation (CAA), as well as materials on talent recruitment.
