DICP Symposium XXXV on New Separation/Analytical Methods and Metabolomics

The DICP Symposium XXXV on New Separation/Analytical Methods and Metabolomics, chaired by Profs.Yukui Zhang and Guowang Xu, was took place on October 20-22, 2013 at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP). The event was attended by over thirty domestic and internationals experts, as well as numerous faculty and students from DICP.

In the opening ceremony, Prof. Aisheng Feng, deputy director of DICP, delivered an enthusiastic welcome. He reviewed the history of the DICP Symposium and set high expectations for the coming days. Prof. Guowang Xu introduced both the biotechnology department of DICP and CAS Key Laboratory of Separation Science for Analytical Chemistry, and laid out the schedule for the symposium.

Experts from the United States, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, Japan, South Korea, and Australia presented their latest research. Between and within these talks, topics ranging from analytical chemistry to biochemistry, especially the breakthroughs in metabonomics, lipidomics and proteomics and their translational applications, were reported on and thoroughly discussed. The delegates toured DICP biotechnology laboratories and instrument departments during their visit.

This symposium furthers DICP’s commitment to dialogue and exchange with the international scientific community. The conference is sponsored by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Commission on Chromatography of Chinese Chemical Society, and AB SCIEX Co. Ltd. (by Xianzhe Shi, Wansheng Liu, Zhongda Zeng)
