Recently, Clarivate Analytics Company has released Highly Cited Researchers 2016 preliminary list on its website. Four scientists from Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science (SYNL) have been named highly cited researchers, including Prof. CHENG Huiming, Prof. LU Ke, Prof. LU Lei and Prof. LI Feng.

Highly Cited Researchers list identifies the world’s most influential contemporary researchers across 21 main fields of science. Over 3000 researchers earned the distinction by writing the greatest numbers of reports officially designated by Essential Science Indicators (ESI) as Highly Cited Papers—ranking among the top 1% most cited for their subject field and year of publication. Among the Highly Cited Researchers 2016, 183 scientists are from China, and 45 on materials science.
